FRANCES VALENTINE

CREPE FLOWERS

For Frances Valentine’s nationwide spring rollout, Sizemore Color Studios designed and fabricated a vibrant collection of oversized crepe-paper flowers that brought the joyful spirit of the season into storefronts across the country.

More than 100 handcrafted blooms were created in multiple sizes and five vibrant colors, each carefully ombréd from light to deep tones to mimic the natural gradients found in fresh flowers. The result was a lively floral installation that felt both whimsical and refined—perfectly echoing Frances Valentine’s love of bold color, playful elegance, and spring 2026 campaign.

Every bloom began the same way: with paper, color, and careful hands.

In our studio, each petal was cut, shaped, and assembled one by one, transforming simple materials into expressive, larger-than-life flowers. The process combines traditional paper-flower techniques with the precision and scale required for a nationwide installation. This behind-the-scenes look captures the craftsmanship, collaboration, and attention to detail that bring each bloom to life.

The artistry of these flowers lives in the details. From shaping individual petals to building layered blossoms, every stage of fabrication reveals the thoughtful handwork behind the finished pieces. These moments inside the studio show how color, texture, and form come together—petal by petal—to create flowers that feel vibrant, dimensional, and full of life.

Creating these oversized crepe flowers is both an art and a process. This step-by-step look inside our studio shows how each bloom is built—from the first petal to the final layered form. By carefully shaping, assembling, and balancing color gradients, Nick transforms sheets of crepe paper into sculptural flowers designed to capture the playful spirit of spring.

These images document the creative journey—from early color testing and structural prototypes to full-scale fabrication in the studio. The process allowed us to explore scale, color transitions, and petal forms until every flower felt vibrant, balanced, and ready to bloom in the window.
